SLAGGING AND FOULING IN PULVERIZED COAL BOILERS AND POSSIBILITIES OF REDUCING THIS BY ADDING AN ADDITIVE
Original language description
Boilers with pulverized coal belong to the most widely used technology in the energy industry. These boilers burn pulverized coal with a particle size below 1 mm. Flared coal powder also contains ash material and water. Melting resulting ash at high temperatures leads to formation of deposition heat transfer surface sand convection part. By the place of origin the deposits can be divided on two types - slag and fly ash. Slag deposits are formed in the boiler, while the fly ash deposits are formed in theconvection part. The article describes the difference between the slagging and fouling. There is a calculation of slagging and fouling characteristics indices after adding additives to the charge which should reduce this effect. According to calculations of slagging indices it can be said that the additive influence was not proved and according to the calculation the slagging was heavy. In case of calculation of the fouling index, the calculated value was higher than 7 which means heavy
