The majority of mining machines work in hard operational, mining and geological conditions, while their mechanical parts are exposed to variable loads. For this reason, it is not possible to design these parts, taking into consideration only their staticload. For their dimensioning it is necessary to take into account other factors and circumstances, which can influence their fatigue life. These are mainly the dynamic effects of the machines and their parts during operation. That is why all parts of machinery and their components must be properly designed, focusing on the shape design, their sizes (weights), material used, and also their surface quality. In this work you can find a description of the dimensioning procedure used for the strength bolt of a stockyard loader. Input data are made up of the technical parameters of this machine, i.e. the torque and radius of the drive sprocket, and structural design of attaching the scraper plate.
