The present palynological study concentrates to the Berriasian - Albian (Early Cretaceous) dinoflagellate cysts record from the Western Carpathian successions on the territory of Czech and Slovak republics, especially in the Silesian Unit of the Outer Western Carpathians and Pieniny Klippen Belt, and emphazing the potential of dinoflagellates in biostratigraphy and in the recognition of palaeoenvironmental and palaeoclimatic change.
