    RESEARCH ON THE UNDERGROUND HEAT STORAGE POSSIBILITIES

    The article describes the implementation of high-temperature borehole thermal energy storage (BTES) in the Green Gas DPB, a.s. company's premises in Paskov, Czech Republic. The storage, which is the first of its kind in the Czech Republic, was built within the research project supported by the Grant Agency of the Czech Republic. The uniqueness of the storage is also supported by the fact that as the heat source a cogeneration unit producing heat and electricity via mine gas (coal mine methane and abandoned mine methane) combustion is used. The article also provides an overview of temperatures developments in the monitoring borehole as well as of long-term and short-term charging and discharging cycles' development. The first analyses of one selected cycle with the continual charging mode are presented. In the introduction, the large and small research polygons on the VSB-Technical University of Ostrava campus are mentioned.
