    THE EFFECT OF AN ADDITIVE ON THE CHEMISTRY OF COMBUSTION PRODUCTS FROM BIOMASS CO-COMBUSTION

    In line with the efforts to search for unconventional fuels and to minimise wastes, this paper examines the influence of additives on the combustion of coal and co-combustion of coal and biomass. It includes analyses of the basic parameters of the samples of coal and biomass mixtures, namely gross water content in the sample water content analysis, the total water content, ash content, and calorific value. The results of the chemical analyses of the samples show the positive effect of additives Nalco 8270 on the chemistry of the combustion products, which is a significant influence on reduced slagging. However, the results also show that the additive Nalco 8270 does not decrease fouling, and it may even increase it. The analyses are important for the optimal management of boilers.
