1st International Scientific Conference on &quot;Advances in Environmental Engineering&quot;(AEE) organised by Faculty of Mining and Geology of the VŠB-Technical University of Ostrava, Czech Republic and Faculty of Civil Engineering of the Technical University of Košice, Slovakia will be held in Ostrava, Czech Republic in November 28-30, 2017. The conference will be held on the occasion of 40th anniversary of the founding of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and continues on previous environmentally focused conferences organised by Technical Universities and Slovak Chemical Society. The idea of founding a new series of environmentally oriented conferences was based on the need of scientists and experts from praxis in V4 region to have a common platform for exchange the knowledge and expertise on various environmental topics. However, the goal of AEE 2017 is, in addition, to provide a global platform for all researchers and engineers coming from academia and industry to present their research results and activities in the field of fundamental and interdisciplinary research of environmental science and technology. The conference offers an international platform for the dissemination of original research results, new ideas and practical development and discovers advances in the field of environmental engineering and related interdisciplinary topics.
