Preparation of microporous fly ash supports for separation of colloidal particles from mine waters
Original language description
Ceramic membranes for the purpose of wastewater treatment are mainly made of Al, Si, Ti and Zr oxides. The main disadvantage of these membranes is their high cost. Therefore an effort is devoted to preparation of geopolymers made of cheaper raw materials with similar properties. Fly ash from combustion of energy coal was chosen in this work as a dominant material for tubular supported microfiltration (MF) membrane preparation. Prepared MF membranes/supports have been applied to the mine water pre-treatment.
