This article deals with the flood situation in the municipality of Hradec nad Svitavou and describes the possibility of increasing the flooding protection by means of a dry detention basin, whose task is to transform the flood wave thus reducing the damage caused by the wave. This measure will increase the time required to carry out the necessary flood preparations.
