Original language description
In this paper, a continuous severe plastic deformation (SPD) process for metal sheets called dual rolls equal channel extrusion (DRECE) is introduced. The DRECE process achieves maximized deformation homogeneity of metal sheets by combining bending deformation with channel-angular shear deformation. Evolution of microstructure and mechanical properties of Cu-Zn37 alloy were investigated experimentally in relation to the number of repetitive DRECE passes. The DRECE process was repeated up to four passes at room temperature. As the number of passes increased, the heterogeneous evolution of tensile properties, microhardness and microstructural heterogeneities between the core and surface regions gradually became intensified.
