The aim of this work was to assess the rhenium and iridium influence on structural and mechanical characteristics at forming single crystals of high-melting metals. Low-alloyed alloys of W and Mo doped with Ir and Re, the initial length about 204 mm anddiameters 11 and 13 mm, were prepared by the plasma metallurgy. The conditions of forming single crystals on the base of tungsten consisted of a specimen heating in the furnace in the atmosphere of hydrogen to the temperature of 1450 °C followed by rotary swaging the result of which were rods of the diameter about 5.5 mm and continuous forging to the final diameter about 4 mm. The final reduction to the diameter 0.5 mm was performed by means of the drum drawing.
