Original language description
A laboratory complex allowing simulation of direct strip rolling from cast steel slabs was de-veloped. Steel specimens are melted in the vacuum induction furnace and then cast into a demountable cast-iron mould that allows of putting out the casting quickly. After temperature homogenization the specimen is im-mediately hot rolled at the computer controlled rolling mill. Hot rolling conditions necessary for obtaining the analogous microstructure in case of conventional and direct rolling were evaluated.
