Biological-chemical leaching of converted sludge
Original language description
The aim of the work was to assess the converter sludge behaviour when applying biological-chemical leaching. The biological leaching is based on bioactivity of chemotrophic bacteria. The bacterial strain Thiobacillus ferrooxidans was used in our experiments. Applying the detail chemical and granulometric analyses, physico-chemical characteristics of homogenized converter sludge samples were determined and the phase analysis of input samples and samples after leaching was performed by means of X-ray diffraction analysis. In addition, the morphology of individual sludge samples was studied. It was concluded that the converter sludge samples in the tested biological-chemical media and applied time interval appear to be convenient for bio-metallurgical recycling from the view of the element composition changes.
