Physical modelling of forming processes at the Technical University of Ostrava.
Original language description
Institute of Modelling and Control of Forming Processes was found in Technical University of Ostrava in 1996. Thus a research workplace has been established with interdisciplinary team of mostly young workers and unique and continually developing experimental base. In co-operation with metallurgical plants and several research subjects the structure-forming processes associated with rolling are mainly studied (their influence on resulting properties, optimization of real technologies, etc.). Institute has been specialized on hot and cold flat rolling of steels and non-ferrous alloys, limited modelling of section or wire rolling and thermomechanical treatment has been also applied. Research team deals with simulations of forming processes on laboratorydevices largely similar to the industrial devices (above all the rolling mills).
