Original language description
To study important hydrodynamic interactions between bubbles and bubble-particle collisions, at intermediate Reynolds number, one has to have a possibility to produce bubbles of required parameters (size, formation frequency, spatial arrangement, spacing, etc.). In the literature, there is not much results published that would cover this topic. Therefore, we tried to produce bubbles with Re in the range of 101 - 102 from capillaries, based on the spontaneous bubble formation dynamics. To our surprise, we have learned that the problem is far from being trivial. We were not be able to set the experimental conditions to generate e.g. bubbles of Re = 125 in groups of five at center-center spacing ten bubble radii, arranged in a vertical line. Here we report some specific drawbacks that we have encountered.
