    Hydrodynamics of small bubble formation: selected results.

    Dynamic behaviour of hydrodynamically interacting particles at intermediate Reynolds number is far from being understood. A relatively simple example is the motion of a one-dimensional bubble chain rising through a stagnant liquid. This problem is very interesting from the theoretical point of view since the interaction forces can be formulated at the leading order. The present contribution addresses some aspects of the behaviour of a bubble chain composed of various number of bubbles with Re ~ 100. Based on visualization techniques, typical features of the in-line interactions are reported.
