    Structure and properties of Ti-46Al-5Nb-1W after directional solidification

  • Original language description

    Ti-Al base alloys find ever broader application thanks to their outstanding mechanical properties and good corrosion resistance even at increased temperatures. This pre-destinates them for application in aircraft and automotive industries, as well as inmedicine. The best combination of strength and toughness from various developed titanium alloys proves the alloys with fully lamellar two phases alloys consisting of TiAl (g) and Ti3Al (a2). The ductility and strength are sensitive to the orientation spacing of the lamellaes.

  • Czech description

    Slitiny na bázi TiAl jsou díky svým výborným vlastnostem a korozní odolnosti i za zvýšených teplot považovány za velmi perspektivní materiály. To je předurčuje pro použití v leteckém a automobilovém průmyslu, jakož i v lékařství. Nejlepší kombinaci pevnosti a houževnatosti poskytuje slitina s lamelární mikrostrukturou, tvořenou fázemi TiAl (g) a Ti3Al (a2). Houževnatost a pevnost jsou citlivé na orientaci lamel.
