A New Mathematical Model for Calculation Critical Strain for the Initialization of DRX
Original language description
This paper deals with the effect of development of temperature and strain rate in the cross-section of a rolled AISI 304 steel strip upon the onset of dynamic recrystallization (DRX). The surface temperature of the strip decreases as a result of transferof heat to rolls during rolling. Due to the existence of such region with higher resistance to deformation, the strain rate curve for the surface of the strip exhibits two peaks. These are the two reasons why the onset of dynamic recrystallization nearthe surface of the rolled part occurs later than in theory. Extensive mathematical simulations were performed in order to find the critical strain value for the onset of DRX, which would reflect the impact of the above factors.
