    Forged pieces from magnesium alloys and its utilization in automotive industry

  • Original language description

    One of main advantage of magnesium alloys is its low density. Is the lowest of all classical alloys. Specific strength (Rm/) is two times higher in comparison with aluminum. During cold forming have these alloys, particularly with alloying elements, badformability due to their HCP grid. Main alloying elements of Magnesium alloys for forming are Al, Zn, Mn, Si, Th. When is volume of Al, or Zn higher then there has been a possibility for its hardening. In automotive industry are used magnesium alloys towide assortment of parts i.e. chassis parts, sheets, wheels, gear box etc.
