The role of wire in medicine
Original language description
Commencements of products made of metal wires are dated to the times at about 3,400 years BC when metal jewellery was made in Egypt and Mesopotamia. As time goes by, the wire works became an important part in many fields of knowledge including medical science. The main medical branches, in which the wire works gain ground the most at the moment, include surgery, orthopaedics and stomatology. In most cases corrosion-resisting steels, cobalt alloys and titanous alloys are used for the production of wire works.
