Original language description
Catalytic N2O decomposition over calcined Co-Mn-Al layered double hydroxide modified with small amount of alkali, rare earth, and noble metals was studied. Two methods of promoter addition were applied: impregnation of Co-Mn-Al mixed oxide in promoter-containing solution and incorporation of promoter during coprecipitation of LDH precursor. Method of preparation affected reducibility of the obtained catalysts but its effect on the surface area (with the exception of cerium contained sample) and the N2Oconversion was less evident. Addition of K and Na increased the N2O conversion, while no effect or a decrease of the N2O conversion was observed for Li-containing and other catalysts. Alkali metals act as an electron promoter.
