Study of Technological Formability of Low-alloyed Steel 25CrMo4
Original language description
In the case of the rolled Cr-Mo based low-alloyed steel rolled products, the internal cracks occur after hot rolling, and show during the ultrasound inspection. A set of the hot wedge-shaped tests was carried out for the given type of the 25CrMo4 continuously cast steel so that the formability of this type of steel could be judged. The investigated steel has a good formability within the temperature range from 1100 to -1300°C, but only when the blooms and billets are rolled from the continuously cast semi-finished products (thereinafter referred to as the "conti cast blanks") of the diameter 410 mm. The occurrence, as the case may be, of internal cracks in blooms and billets rolled from the cast blanks of the diameter 550 mm is caused by the negative interaction of several factors, namely the low casting speed, the high overheating temperature in a tundish, the short heating time, and the relatively low rolling temperatures.
