Activation energy of the aluminium alloy Mg-3Al-1Zn in hot forming
Original language description
Compression tests of specimens from the aluminium alloy Mg-3Al-1Zn (AZ31) at temperature T = 250 to 450 °C and strain rate gama=0.01 to 10 s-1 were performed. From the peaks of the obtained stress-strain curves, the values of the activation energy Q andother material constants, usable for the description of the maximum stress and the kinetics of the dynamic recrystallization in dependence on the Zener-Hollomon parameter Z were expressed numerically. The deformation behaviour and especially the shape ofthe stress-strain curves differ significantly at the low and high values of the parameter Z. The boundary between these areas was determined mathematically as Z = 2.9E+13 s-1. While the specified activation energy Q was for these both areas nearly identical (157 or 155 kJ/mol, respectively), the mathematical description of the coordinates of the stress peak is markedly different. The changes in the deformation behaviour consist in a strong effect of twinning in the initial stages of for
