Mechanical Properties of Titanium after Severe Plastic Deformation
Original language description
This paper describes manufacture of ultra-grained titanium, its microstructure and properties. Ultra grained titanium has higher specific strength than ordinary (coarsegrained) titanium. Ultra-grained titanium was produced by the ECAP process. The research was focused on physical base of strengthening and softening processes and developments occurring at the grain boundaries during the ECAP process. Strength of ultra grained titanium varies around 960 MPa, grain size around 300 nm.
