Chosen properties of the CrNi steel-Ti sandwich used in the chemical industry
Original language description
CrNi-Ti sandwich is explosively weld and used in chmical industry. In proximity of the bond line the metallographic observation locally revealed an occurrence of structural in-homogeneities in the form of molten zones showing various volume fraction of Ti-Cr-Fe-Ni, eventually with Mn and/or with Al and Si. Any other defects were not observed. After the heat treatment no change in type of interface was observed. The wave amplitude was 287 Om, the period length 1745 Om and the average wave length 1690 ?m.The evaluated grain size of the stainless steel corresponded to 35.2 Om after bonding and to 45.3 Om after followed annealing. In titanium matrix none grain size changes were practically detected. The grain size corresponded to 18.9 on average. The curried out fatigue tests confirmed the more favourable results in bimetal after the heat treatment. In given case the threshold level lied on the 400 MPa unlike the sandwich without the heat treatment.
