    In this time, the industry of building materials is increasingly forced to pursue economic and ecological parameters of manufacturing processes and resulting products. This applies to energy intensity of production processes, technological changes in rawmaterial base toward saving natural resources and the use of secondary sources and reducing environmental burdens. In the field of hydraulic binders is increasing alternative products, with limited containing Portland clinker, respectively prepared materials without clinker by alkaline activation of latent hydraulic substances. The greatest potential for these trends are systems based on slag and fly ash, which belong to the category of geopolymer materials. The paper deals with the preparation of materials from granulated blast furnace slag (GBFS) and fly ash (FA) using both liquid and solid alkali activator and monitoring the effect of mechanical activation of fly ash on properties of product.
