Laboratory Thermomechanical Processing and CCT Diagrams of Steel 42CrMo4
Original language description
The installation of the new state-of-the-art coiling equipment of Garret type at Třinecké železárny a.s., intended for coiling the hot rolled bars into coils and the following controlled cooling, requires the process optimization of the bar rolling in this rolling mill. The laboratory rolling mill Tandem was used for these tests, where the simulation of the controlled finish rolling and cooling of steel 42CrMo4, destined for the heat treatment, were carried out. The resulting structure properties of therolled products were confronted with the transformation diagrams of this steel, designed by means of dilatometer DIL 805A/D. The transformation diagrams were completed with metallographic analyses and measurements of microhardness in two modifications:CCT and DCCT. The finish rolling temperatures had only a small influence on the final properties, vice-versa the effect of the cooling rate was quite distinctive.
