Development of synthetic slag for use in EAF
Original language description
Presented paper deals with development of synthetic slags made from industrial wastes and lime. The objective of practical use of these slags consists in liquefaction of slag in EAF and ensuring of sufficient dephosphorisation of steel. It concerns sources of raw materials, development of chemical composition and granulometry synthetic slags. Afterwards it optimises mass of synthetic slag and technology of its charging into EAF. Criterion of success consists in observance of the limited content of phosphorus in steel at tapping, as well as duration of heat and difference of cost intensity of production when fluorspar is replaced by synthetic slag. Verification of refining effects of these slags was made at the steel shop Poldi Hütte s.r.o. Kladno, Czech Republic
