Effect of the Modification of Perforated Walls on Steel Flow Pattern in a 5-Strand Asymmetrical Tundish
Original language description
The paper is devoted to one of the next stages in the search for the optimal internal design of a 5-strand asymmetric tundish - CCM (Continuous Casting Machine) No. 1 in Třinec Ironworks, Inc. A positive effect of the baffle (a type of bulkhead) installation into the tundish impact area on the character of steel flow has already been proven. In order to achieve even better results in terms of further homogenization of resident times among casting streams, the experiments to verify the modified variantsof perforated baffles were undertaken. Discussion is made on the basis of analysis of characteristic time moments deducted from the transient F-curves.
