Hydrogen Response of Progressive Materials for Automotive Industry
Original language description
The work deals with resistance to hydrogen embrittlement of high manganese hot and cold rolled TRIPLEX alloy (Fe24Mn1.2C11Al) with final thickness of 2 mm, and two variants of TRIP 800 steel (the first variant with Si and the second one with Si partiallysubstituted by Al). The final thickness of TRIP sheets corresponded to 1.5 mm. Both materials were exposed to hydrogen sulphide environment (the hydrogen induced cracking-HIC-tests). Further, in case of the TRIP steel the sulphide stress cracking (SSC)tests were carried out. All materials were evaluated from the point of view of their susceptibility to hydrogen embrittlement. The obtained results showed their favourable resistance, especially in the case of the TRIPLEX alloy.
