Influence of Microstructure on Resistance of Hot Formed Steel Plate X52 to Hydrogen Embrittlement
Original language description
The work deals with the evaluation of resistance of steel X52 to sulphide stress cracking (SSC), which is one of the possible degradation of materials in sour environments containing hydrogen sulfide. Commonly used engineering approach applied in this field assumes that the resistance of steels to SSC is almost unequivocally linked to its strength and hardness. This approach seems rather simplistic, as there are also other factors, which should be taken into account. It concerns in particular the microstructural characteristics, the influence of which on the resistance of steel X52 to SSC is discussed in this paper.
