Strengthening of Two Different High Manganese Steels by K-carbides
Original language description
Two different high manganese steels (X120MnAl24-12 and X70MnAl28-9) were hot rolled under the same conditions. After rolling the first steel (X120) showed inter-granularly excluded coarser k-carbides (up to micron size) unlike the second steel (X70). Thedifferences of aluminium, carbon and manganese contents showed important dissimilarity of hardness values. In steel X70 progressive k-carbides precipitation both of nano- and of mikro-size after aging at 500°C during 6, 20, 30 and 60 minutes put into effect. Detected increasing hardness (HV30) and the X-ray analysis proved it. Part of solution was also evaluation of grain sizes and stacking fault energy levels.
