Effect of geometry parameters on two phase hydrodynamics of Pachuca tank: experiment vs. CFD simulation
Original language description
Nowadays, when waste management is treated as an important secondary resource of raw materials, such three phase reactors are suitable for extraction of important compounds from various slurries. Agitation of suspensions is based on creating one zone inthe draft tube of the reactor through which gas rises; this creates simultaneously a density difference between the gas-liquid (riser) zone and the liquid (downcomer) zone; circulation of the liquid and through both zones is induced by this density difference. Setup of draft tube inside of reactor is important geometry parameter and has big influence on two phase hydrodynamics. Proposed paper is focused on experimental study of two phase hydrodynamics in a pilot scale Pachuca tank. The standard parameters such as gas hold-up and circulation liquid velocity are compared with result of numerical simulation. Results of simulation has been good agreement with experimentals data.
