Determination of mean flow stress of tool steel by various methods
Original language description
The main goal of this paper was to compare two ways of gaining the mean flow stress (MFS), namely on the basis of laboratory rolling of samples with graded thickness, or from evaluation of the torsion tests on plastometer SETARAM. The experiment was carried out with steel X37CrMoV5-1, which belongs to the most used tool steels intended for hot working. For obtaining MFS values in a broad range of deformation conditions the flat samples with graded thickness were used, that were rolled on the laboratoryrolling mill Tandem after the unified preheating to the temperature of 1423 K. The model MFS was created using the method of the multiple non-linear regression in the statistic program Unistat 5.6.
