The promising potential of the Fe ? 40 at. % Al type intermetallic compounds is used only in a limited way yet, mainly due to the high brittleness. With regard to attraction of the given type material, the plastometric research at of the Fe-40Al alloy reinforced by TiB2 particles (< 10 ?m), was carried out, using the compression tests on plastometer Gleeble at temperatures 800 to 1200 °C and strain rates 0.05 s-1 to 30 s-1. From the obtained stress-strain curves both the coordinates of peak stresses andactivation energy were determined in hot forming process according to the classical equation of the hyperbolic sine type.
