REMOVING Cu(II) AND PHOSPHATE FROM AQUEOUS SOLUTIONS USING A TWO STEP SELECTIVE SORPTION
Original language description
This study explores removing phosphates from solutions in Cu(II) presence by two step selective sorption. On the first step Cu is removed by oxyhumolite. Selectivity of oxyhumolite depends on the equilibrium pH value and sorption time. Its high sorptionefficiency for Cu(II) (E = 90% ) is caused by presence of humic acids. On the second step phosphates are removed by CaO-MgO-Al2O3-SiO2 oxide systems. Modified blast furnace slags and calcined hydrotalcite seem to be the most effective sorbents (E = 99%).Simultaneously, residual Cu(II) is removed. The result content of Cu(II) and P in solution after two step sorption is lower than 1%.
