The ?Department of powder technologies? consists of the ?Laboratory of magnetic and ceramic materials? and the ?Laboratory of friction composites?. The ?Laboratory of magnetic and ceramic materials? deals with the development and optimization of technologies for the preparation of permanent magnets based on rare earth metals. The research is focused on the development of new generation of hard magnetic materials based on R2Fe14B intermetallics with the aim to increase their coercivity and temperature-time stability, and to define physic-chemical and process fundamentals of the preparation of these permanent magnets. The ?Laboratory of friction composites? is aimed at the development of friction composites for car braking systems with limitation of negative impacts on the environment and health of humans.
