    Identification studies of the effective thermal conductivity coefficient of metal mesh wick in capillary heat pipe

  • Original language description

    Determining the effective thermal conductivity coefficient of capillary wicks in the boiling and condensation heat transfer in two-phase flow (liquid-vapour phase) in capillary heat pipe is quite complicated. Normally, when the temperature difference between the boiling temperature of solvent and inside surface temperature of heat pipe is small, we may assume that heat transfer in capillary wick is the same as equivalent thermal conductivity process of solid and liquid, the effect of convection heat transfer process can be neglected. In this article, the effective thermal conductivity coefficient of capillary wicks (metal mesh wick) is defined including the influence of natural convection heat transfer in a narrow gap.
