Operational Test of Insulated Ladle
Original language description
Nowadays, ArcelorMittal Ostrava Steel Plant focuses on reducing energy intensity of the ladle metallurgy as part of steelmaking and related reduction of emissions. This can be achieved by thermo mechanical process optimization of metallurgical units in terms of impact on energy consumption and environmental load in steel production. This is to minimize heat loss of liquid steel in ladles in the whole technological flow from the melting device through outside-furnace processing to continuous casting of steel. One of the possibilities of energy and environmental intensity reduction of steel production is the use of high-quality insulating layer in the ladle lining.
