Low-cost method of the highly porous iron sintering
Original language description
Iron and iron oxide materials are widely used especially in electrochemistry. Highly porous iron and iron oxides have potential to improve use properties of up to date technologies. This paper deals with low-cost method of highly porous iron powder sintering using NaCl as pores forming additive. Method presented in this paper allowed to achieve total porosity approximately 70 % and effective/total porosity rate 0.89 with well interconnected pores. Moreover, it was confirmed that AFM analysis (3D roughness, peak to peak variable and Hausrof fractal dimension) is suitable method in porous materials surface analysis and characterization, with respect to some limitations.
