The paper deals with porosity of metallurgical sinter. It presents several methods of porosity testing It describes methodology of mercury porosimetry, electron and optical microscopy and Archimedes' test of porosity. There were carried out various porosity tests of typical metallurgical sinter used in operation conditions of Czech metallurgical industry. These results are discussed. The testing methods are assessed in the view of thier application for this material. The methods are compared according to their potential for porosity testing of metallurgical sinter.
