This paper is devoted to comparison of solidus (TS) and liquidus (TL) temperatures of selected industrially produced bearing steel 100CrMo7. The apparatus Netzsch STA 449 F3 Jupiter for high temperature thermal analysis was used. On a large steel samples(approx. 22 g) method of direct thermal analysis (DirTA) was applied. Based on evaluation of experimentally obtained cooling curves during the mode of controlled cooling TS and TL were acquired. These results were compared with the appropriate temperatures from industrial partner and theoretically calculated temperatures from specialized software IDS and ThermoCalc. In terms of verification of correct adjustment of methodology of DirTA on large samples a comparison of TS and TL on this steel grade by different thermal analysis method was performed.
