Calorimetric measurements of FeCCr-based metallic systems with use of DSC method
Original language description
The purpose of this investigation was the experimental and theoretical determination of the heat capacities of FeCCrbased metallic systems (steels with lower and higher chromium content) with use of DSC method and software Thermo-Calc. DSC method (Differential Scanning Calorimetry) is one of the calorimetric methods which is suitable for studying the thermodynamic properties of steels. Heat capacities of steels are one of the crucial thermophysical parameters used for process behaviour prediction in many applications. Heat capacity is an input variable for many thermodynamical and kinetic programs. The dependences of heat capacity on common variables (temperature, pressure, …) are also commonly used as the input data in software packages (e.g. ProCast, Magmasoft, …) that are applicable in the fi eld of applied research for simulations of technological processes. Experimental data can be found in literature, but it is diffi cult to fi nd data for given steel.
