Health impact assessment of wind power station in industrailised landscape
Original language description
Renewable sources of energy are supported in all the EU countries including Czech Republic. The landscape potencial of Central Europe enables generally the exploitation of wind energy rather than other sources. One of the most important problems is the location of the energetic power stations as the landscape in the Czech Republic is densely inhabitated and used for complex functions including agriculture, industry, communications, ecological functions etc. That is why the construction of any "wind mill" requires thorough evaluation of all features (circumstances) it can influence during its operation. As a model situation the construction of wind power station in industriualised landspape near Ostrava City was considered. Densely inhabited locality required the evaluation of the impact on human health among the others. The most significant factor for negative impact on human health the noise emissions were detected. Evaluation detected that for the protection of public health it is necessary to meet the proper distance of the wind power station from permanently inhabited residential localities with the combination of corresponding operation mode of the source both the energy and noise emissions.
