Calorimetric measurements and theoretical calculations of Fe-C-Cr based systems
Original language description
Two alloys based on Fe-C-Cr were studied. Alloy A contained carbon of 0.34 wt. % and chromium of 2.97 wt. %. Alloy B contained carbon of 0.34 wt. % and chromium of 4,760 wt. %. Heat capacities were studied in the low and high-temperature area. The heat capacities were obtained using Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC). The Setaram MHTC (Multi High-Temperature Calorimeter) 96 with a 3D DSC sensor was used for experiments with the use of the DSC method. Measurements were done in an inert atmosphere of pure argon by a heating rate of 5oC min-1. The experimental data were compared and discussed with the calculation results using SW Thermo-Calc (TC), FactSage (FS) and IDS.
