Study of Rheology of Rubber Blends Containing Zeolite Filler with Different Binding Agents

  • Original language description

Rubber blends based on styrene butadiene rubber and natural rubber (SBR) and natural rubber (NR) represent a significant proportion of the materials used on car tires in the automobile industry. Their decisive properties are obtained in the heat treatment - vulcanization, which creates a 3D spatial network by generation of transverse bonds between the macromolecules of polymer chains of rubbers. Mechanical properties of vulcanized products can be significantly improved by the use of fillers. The experimental material SBR/NR rubber blends with zeolite filler and with different types of silane coupling agents are not implemented in the current standard practice of tire production. Research is oriented on investigation of influence of various coupling agents (between zeolite filler and polymer macromolecules) on rheological and electrical properties. These properties could be useful for solving material problems. The aim of the paper is to investigate the application of natural silicates (zeolite, clinoptilolite) together with coupling agents as an active filler and to verify their influence on selected physical-mechanical, rheological, electrical properties.
