Powder TiO2, CeO2, Fe2O3, CuO-based catalysts for catalytic oxidation of dichloromethane
Original language description
PhD students's day FMST 2024A set of powder transition metal and lanthanide-based oxide cataysts was prepared by co-precipitation and calcination to be investigated in catalytic oxidation of dichloromethane (DCM). Catalytic testing was realized on the laborathory equipment consisting of a heated fixed bed quartz tubular reactor with granulated catalyst, DCM and water injection and online FTIR analyzer. Concentration of DCM 500 ppm and water 1.5 vol.% were set in an air flow of 1.05 dm3/min for catalytic oxidation experiments, corresponding to SV 71 m3/kgcat.h. It was revealed TiO2-CeO2-CuO shows 100 % conversion of DCM and the lowest detected amount of unwanted by-products, but TiO2-Fe2O3 shows better catalytic activity than TiO2-CeO2-CuO.
