Original language description
This study focuses on the simulation analysis of the casting process of alloy structural steel 1.7220 (34CrMo4), which is characterized by high tensile strength and good machinability. For this reason, it was used to manufacture an energy component – an original flywheel rotor. MAGMASOFT® software was used to optimize the casting process parameters, enabling detailed modeling of mold filling, solidification, microstructure development and prediction of internal defects. The simulations provided an overview of heat zones, melt flow and identification of critical areas in terms of defect formation.
