Legal Basis of Economic Competition Protection in the CR and its Connection to EU Legislation
Original language description
The article deals with the concept of main legal norms involving in the problem of economic competition protection in CR and EU. It brings a substance of competition policy in EU and CR and compares legal norms in the European Union and in the Czech Republic. The most serious form of economic competition erosion is abusing dominant position, especially abusing economic dependence of business partners. Other way to reach dominant position is a cartel agreement (pool). The economic competition can be eroded also by providing public procurement or state aid. Czech legislative gives a relatively compex frame for economic competition protection that is in harmony with the legislation of EU. The institutional side of economic competition protection is givenby the Office for Economic Competition Protection which looks for its position in the area of economic regulation and for more efficient methods and instruments for protecting competition.
