The paper investigates the long-term unemployment in the Czech labour market. The first part describing development phases in the Czech labour market from the beginning of the transition to the present is followed by detailed empirical evidence of the long-term unemployment based on two different approaches - alternative measures of unemployment and labour force flows. In the last chapter we test the theoretical reasons and results of long-term unemployment in the Czech labour market.
