In the year 2002 an e-centre for educational and psychological counselling was created at the Faculty of Informatics, Masaryk University of Brno. Its purpose is to serve as an introduction to counselling services and to provide fundamental information inelectronic form. Having gained valuable experience in the year 2002 the authors of the -centre in collaboration with the Faculty of Economics, VŠB-Technical University of Ostrava started to develop the all-university counselling portal that is to cover all the faculties of Masaryk University and to provide counselling services also in other areas, not just in education and psychology. In the development of the project the main emphasis was placed predominantly on database structure, security aspects andthe selection of the most appropriate IT for implementation.
